Certified and Fingerprint Clearance

Student's Safety as the Baseline for Everything

Ensuring the safety of the student is Heeyoung's top priority before any tutoring session. As an official educator, she is certified as a Subject Matter Expert Standard Teaching by the Arizona Department of Education.

She has also undergone an FBI background check through the Arizona Department of Public Safety and has been issued an official fingerprint clearance card known as the IVP (Identity Verified Prints) fingerprint clearance card, which is required for most school teachers and school district staff.

Heeyoung will present her IVP fingerprint clearance card to the student at the beginning of the first tutoring session.

About Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

Arizona Revised Statutes require many professions to have an active fingerprint clearance card prior to or as a condition of licensure, certification, or employment.  The Applicant Clearance Card Team (ACCT) at the Arizona Department of Public Safety, receives applications and reviews criminal history records of applicants to determine their suitability to receive a fingerprint clearance card, and periodically updates the status of current fingerprint clearance cards.

The Arizona Revised Statutes (Statutes) require members of many professions to have an active fingerprint clearance card prior to or as a condition of licensure, certification, or employment. The Statutes currently list 52 reasons why a person may need a fingerprint clearance card. The ACCT calls these sponsors. Your licensing, certifying, or authorizing agency, board, or employer (sponsor) can better advise if you need a fingerprint clearance card, and which Statute provides the reason for the requirement.
